Single Parent Adoption
Full Video Transcript
In recent years, single-parent adoptions have dramatically increased, which has resulted in thousands of children being placed into single-parent families. The process for a single-parent adoption is similar to a two-parent adoption but generally contains a bit more investigation. During the two-parent adoption process, the adopting agency will typically conduct background checks, interviews, and home visits. During the one-parent adoption process, the agency may do everything from the two-parent process, but interview more references or conduct a more thorough investigation into finances. The point of this process is to ensure the child is being placed into a safe, secure, and loving home.
