Propecia Information

Full Video Transcript

Propecia is a prescription medication produced by Merck and Company that was approved by the FDA in 1997 to help reduce hair loss. Although Propecia is the only FDA-approved drug to help reduce hair loss, it comes with a list of possible side effects. Among the side effects listed by Merck are: a rash, itching, hives, or swelling of the lips and face. Propecia may also cause erectile dysfunction or decreased sexual desire. However, what Merck does not warn against is the increased risk of prostate cancer for Propecia users. In June of 2011 the FDA issued a warning based on the results of a double blind study that show Propecia causes an increased risk of prostate cancer. If you took Propecia and developed prostate cancer, you may be entitled to compensation. To find out your legal options contact an experienced Propecia attorney today.
