Choosing the executor of your estate is a serious decision and not one to be taken lightly. The person chosen will be trusted to carry out all of your final wishes. Determine potential people you may want to take on such a role and try to only consider those who you feel could really handle such a responsibility. This role requires a person who is able to pay attention to detail since there will be quite a lot of paperwork to be filled out. Once you have determined who you feel would make a good choice, be sure to ask the person if he or she is willing to accept the position. Also, you can designate more than one executor if you wish. Lawyers are also able to be the executor of an estate and often the choice of many to ensure the position is adequately held and duties are carried out correctly.
