Citizenship For Your Children

Full Video Transcript

When a parent becomes a naturalized citizen, the children can often derive citizenship automatically. In most cases, your child can become a citizen if all of the following are true: the other parent is also naturalized or you are the only surviving parent; the child was under 18 when the parents were naturalized; the child was not married when the parents were naturalized; and the child was a permanent resident before his or her 18th birthday. For more information about citizenship for your child, contact an immigration attorney in your area today.
