Copyright Infringement

Full Video Transcript

Copyright infringement occurs when a person copies, publishes or otherwise illegally uses copyrighted information without the consent of a person who owns the copyright. Copyright infringement sometimes creates a very public legal trial, like when a newspaper is accused of plagiarism, or when a copyrighted infringement claim relates to a famous book. However, copyrights may attach to a variety of less famous literary works, including songs and lyrics, plays, dance choreography, pictures and sculptures, movies and other bodies of visual works, sound records and architectural works. If any of these items are illegally copied there could be a lawsuit for copyright infringement. For more information about copyright infringement, contact an attorney in your area today.
