Does Zoloft Cause Birth Defects

Full Video Transcript

Since September 2005, information has emerged that certain antidepressants, such as Zoloft, may cause serious birth defects. The FDA has acknowledged that scientific studies have linked antidepressants such as Zoloft to numerous types of birth defects, including heart defects and persistent pulmonary hypertension (PPH). PPH is a life-threatening disorder in which a newborn's arteries remain constricted after birth, which limits the amount of blood flow to the lungs and consequently the amount of oxygen into the bloodstream. These findings were based on infants born to mothers who took an antidepressant in the last trimester of pregnancy. If you took Zoloft and gave birth to a child with birth defects, you may be entitled to compensation for your injuries. Contact a qualified Zoloft attorney to find out your legal options.
