Every day in the world nearly half a million babies are born, and most are born without complication. Unfortunately, some babies are born with significant health problems through no fault of anyone. However, some babies should have been born healthy, but because of the negligence of medical health professionals, the baby suffers an injury that results in damages or even death. One cause of a significant number of birth injuries is oxygen deprivation, which can occur at many stages during the birthing process. If, for example, a health professional overseeing a birth used excessive pressure or force, used medical devices improperly, failed to properly monitor equipment, improperly intubated, or performed some other negligent act, the results could be dire. In some cases, babies develop debilitating conditions such as cerebral palsy, which have lifelong implications. If you or a loved one has been affected by a birth injury, it's important to speak with an attorney right away. Failing to file a timely lawsuit may result in a forfeiture of your claim.
