Complaints of discrimination by law enforcement may be filed in a couple of different ways. Depending on the nature of your claim, a complete may be locked with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the FBI, U.S. Attorney's office in your city or district, or the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division. While the particular format may vary depending on your claim, some details about your situation should be included in the complaint, including your name, the contact information, the names of law enforcement agency and or officers involved, a description of what happened, and details like dates times witnesses, etc. If you believe that the misconduct is based on your race, national origin, sex, age, religion or disability, make sure to explain that as well in your complaint.
