When you file a lawsuit against a person or a company, you are seeking some sort of remedy or relief. Often the remedy sought is money to help compensate for an injury. An injunction is a different type of remedy because it asks the court to require the defendant to either stop doing some harmful activity, such as stop using another person's copyrighted material, or it is used to require a defendant to do something to prevent a harm. Depending on your situation, you may request both money to compensate you for injuries and an injunction.
