Toyota may be responsible for injuries sustained in accidents caused by sudden acceleration or other safety defects on a variety of legal theories. One of those theories as product liability, basically either that the original design of the car or car part was defective or that even if it was properly designed that some defect occurred during the manufacturing process. Either these scenarios can cause the vehicle to be unreasonably dangerous and be considered defective under the product liability laws. Furthermore, if Toyota knew about any safety dangers and failed to warn buyers about these dangers, then Toyota is facing even more difficulty in defending these lawsuits. In addition to auto defect lawsuits, Toyota owners may have other grounds to sue Toyota, such as for negligence or upon for death. Finally, lawsuits may also be had against any of the part manufacturers, Toyota dealerships or repair facilities.
