Upon job termination, workers who have been offered a severance package and/or release to a sign are often concerned about whether or not the package is fair. It's extremely important that an attorney review these documents before you sign them, because they contain waivers and other legal terms that basically restrict or limit your rights to sue your employer later. Being offered a package doesn't mean your employer is out to get you. These kinds of things have become a common practice in many companies. The terms may be reasonable, but before you sign anything have an attorney review it so you understand what rights you'd be giving up and what those rates are worth. These kinds of agreements generally hold up in court so be sure you make an intelligent and informed decision before you sign. For more information, contact an attorney in your area today.
